Where is Lost in the Reads?

We're an independent bookshop in Kings Chase Shopping Centre, Kingswood, Bristol (BS15 8LP), serving Kingswood, Hanham, Staple Hill, Emersons Green and the surrounding areas.

Do I need to book in advance?

Yes — all our events are booked through our online box office. Spaces are deliberately limited, and popular sessions like children's storytimes and author nights often sell out, so we recommend booking ahead rather than turning up on the day.

How much do your events cost?

Children's and family events are ticketed from £3. Author events are ticketed, usually with the option to add the author's book when you book. Our book clubs run on a £3/month membership.

What ages are your children's events for?

We run two strands — gentle sessions for babies and toddlers, and bigger adventures for children aged 6 and up. Each event listing says exactly who it's designed for.

How long do events last?

Most events run between one hour and 90 minutes.

Do I need to have read the book before an author event?

Not at all. Author nights are about hearing the story behind the book and meeting the writer — come whether you've read it or not. You can add the book to your booking if you'd like a signed copy.

Do you run events for adults too?

Yes — alongside our family events, we host author evenings and two monthly book clubs (Romance and Romantasy/Fantasy) for grown-up readers.

A birthday card for book lovers who know exactly what they like, this cheeky illustrated stack of books celebrates spicy reads, strong coffee & zero shame about it. Designed in rich reds, deep burgundy tones and soft pinks, it’s topped with an iced coffee and chocolate-dipped strawberries for a playful nod to late-night reading sessions. A bookmark peeks out from the books reading: “books spicy and coffee icy.” The stacked spines read: “Hoping your birthday is as spicy as your taste in books. Here’s to another year of pretending 👀'it’s about the plot'👀. Have a fabulous day. Stay smutty.” This design has a deep red and pink tonal colour palette and is layered with colourful foiling, giving a sophisticated shimmer, without losing the hand-illustrated feel. Part of my ‘Book Stacks’ card range, this design is perfect for book lovers, readers, cosy girls and thoughtful friendships. This A6 Card is proudly printed in the UK and blank inside for your own message. Supplied with a coordinating white envelope.
